July 31, 1942 - Sept. 30, 2016 Alice Faye Lucas of Indian Springs, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord on the evening of September 30th. Alice was born July 31, 1942, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the only child of Gordon Lee Burgin and Vula Duncan Burgin. Alice graduated from West End High School in 1960 and received her graduate diploma from The Institute for Financial Education Chicago, Illinois, Alabama Chapter in 1966. Alice married James Leon Lucas on April 21, 1962. She had an outstanding career in the banking and business worlds spanning 42 years of consecutive service at Fidelity Federal, Home Federal, and Alabama Federal Savings and Loan Associations as well as Birmingham Steel Corporation and Tricon Metals & Services. She was well known for her excellent work and her attention to detail which carried over into her personal life. In high school Alice was honored as head cheerleader and homecoming queen. Her vibrant, energetic and encouraging personality continued throughout her life and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was actively involved in Christian Womens Club, Hannah Home Auxiliary and Indian Valley Womens Club and was a member of First Baptist Church, Pelham, Alabama. She is survived by her husband, James Leon Lucas, her daughter, Julie Allison Croushorn, and her two grandchildren, Caleb James Croushorn (16) and Katelyn Hope Croushorn (15). Her legacy of hope and determination will live on in the hearts of her many friends and loved ones. There will be a celebration of life service at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
