Today is January 20th, 2021 and that means its been 5 months without you homie. I love you more than I could ever explain and I miss you so much. You're in a better place, in fact, the best place. You're free. Me and the guys talk about you from time to time and reminisce. You were and still are such a beautiful pure soul. I pray for your family and their mourning because this isn't something you get over in just a few days or eve months, yknow? I've struggled without you here and things just keep getting harder without you to talk to. I was blessed to get to meet you in my life and I miss you more than words could ever convey.

This one is for the Rhodes family.
Although he was a very dear friend to me, and his passing has hurt me significantly, I cannot even begin to fathom just how much you guys are hurting. A message to his parents, his cousins, brother, and sister, etc, I am so sorry for your loss. You lost a precious person, family member, friend, and I know how badly it hurts. Please, stay strong, for Alex and for everyone else. Although it is hard to believe and hard to accept that he is gone, but you'll see him once again later on down the road. You lost him way too soon. He was so perfect in every way, but I'm sure you already knew that. He would be so sad to know how many people are shedding tears for him, and he would try to cheer us all up. I was wondering, "why did it have to be him?" But, when you're in a garden, you try to pick the most beautiful and unique flowers possible, and that is exactly what God did. Alex would have never meant to make you cry, make you sad, or give you pain. Hold on to the memories you have with him, and put them in the treasure box of your heart and lock it back. Never let go of them. Although he was gone too soon, he made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was so cool and fun to be around and would always put a smile on your face. Again, he was truly special to me and I miss him dearly. To the family of Alexander Christian Rhodes, stay strong. I know he misses you all just as much as you miss him, so don't cry too much. It will get better. The pain of him not being here anymore will not subside, but knowing that he is happy in the clouds will hopefully grow inside of your heart, and make you feel better. Dear Alex, it's been a little over a month since your passing. Although time goes on, the memory of your goofy, amazingly awesome self will never be forgotten. You were such an inspiration to so many people around you, and, although we were the same age, I really looked up to you because of how genuinely positive you always were. You would always help me with my problems, whether small or big, or you would just help me with my math homework (because you know I've never been good at it.) You were so intelligent, academically and in the ways of life. When I was upset, you would always remind me to look on the bright side of the situation, and I will be forever grateful for that. You would never ask for anything in return, and you were so grateful for everything you had; friends, family, presents, memories. When there was an argument you would always try your best to say something funny to change the subject. Also, you had such a beautiful voice, singing, talking, and it was so powerful with so many great messages. Even though your passing has taken a huge mental and emotional toll on everyone, I know you would want us to focus on the amazing and fun memories we all had together, which is honestly the only reason I can keep it together these days. You were so amazing, I know I've said that so many times but how many times I say it doesn't make those words any less genuine. You were such a genuine person with no other intentions but to make people happy, and that's honestly part of what made you so amazing. I've started trying to be nicer to people because I remember you told me to think of what other people are going through. I now understand that, although it sounds a bit bad, you need to treat people as though it is their last day on Earth so you have no regrets about how you treated them. I really wish I just had 5 minutes more with you, so I could tell you in person just how much you mean to me. I love you and miss you more each day homie. #frankenweenieon.

Alex you are so loved by so many.  I'll never forget the day I met you as a baby, you were so sweet and that never changed!   I was so excited to hold my baby cousin.  As time went on you grew, and grew into an amazing young man.  I am grateful for the times we did have together and the memories we made, you always kept everyone laughing and a smile on their face.  Little cousin you are forever in our hearts, may you rest in peace.  I love you.  

Our family offers our deepest condolences to the Rhodes family. We were their next door neighbors in Frisco, Texas and my girls went to their house often to play and watch movies. Alex usually wanted to hang out and be included with all of our girls and he was always so good natured about it. 
We are praying for your family and ask that God comfort you during this very difficult time.

I remember Alex as a great friend and cousin who never allowed a dull moment to be had. He was extremely out going and inflicted chronic joy on anyone he interacted with. I have had the most enjoyable moments of my life hanging out with him and wish I could have made some more.

I remember Alex as a great friend and cousin who never allowed anybody to feel down. Regardless, how could you feel down when he was always inducing chronic joy on everybody he talked to. I wish that those times of everlasting laughter could continue and I will miss them forever.

Alex was an amazing friend. We may have only met somewhat recently, but I loved every minute of our gaming sessions or movie watching sessions. We would spend hours talking to each other and telling jokes and laughing. I'm so glad I was able to meet him and be his friend.

For   the   time   that   I   knew   Alex,   he   was   always   happy   and   cheerful   and   great   to   be   around.   He  was   always   eager   to   come   online   and   play   games   with   us.   I   remember   the   times   where   we  would   mess   around   on   games   and   joke   around   with   each   other.   I’ll   always   remember   the   fun   we  had   on   many   different   games   and   talking   into   the   night.   He   was   a   great   guy   and   a   great   friend   to  have   and   hang   out   with.   

There aren’t enough words to describe the feelings this has put in front of me. Alex was my little brother, with the biggest heart. I knew him through photographs, stories, and the occasional FaceTime call.  I didn’t know how to bridge the gap, I just knew I loved him. As I sit here writing this, all I can think about is TIME. It doesn’t stop, and all you can do is make the best of the time you have. Alex  had the most brilliant mind, with limitless potential. 
As this week draws on, I’ve learned so much about the man he was becoming. He loved to sing, play video games, and above all, he was a Champion. From the oppression of social injustice, to the kid left out of a social circle at school, Alex was there to be a voice, and what a voice it was. If you took the time to listen, Alex always had something to say. 
I’m going to put one foot in from of the other, and keep him with me always. My heart is broken, but my spirit is strong.  I’ll make the best use of my time, Alex, I promise. I love you, bro. 

What can I say about my nephew... He was a great fisherman. we had our property in Trinity where he was the first one to catch the first fish from our family there on our property. he was so excited, the fish was no bigger than your hand ,and I do believe it was a sun perch but you couldn’t tell that to Alex, he thought he had caught the fish of the day! I know from Alex he would always show me wisdom and patience. he inspired me I’ll truly miss him Auntie Stacy loves you

I was a friend from spain park high school I would sit out side the band room every morning with him eating my sandwich. He was super nice and caring. I remember when it started to get cold outside. I started singing baby its cooled outside and he joined in. He had the most amazing voice. He wanted me to join him in the talent show but it was my senior year so I was busy. I also never sang in front of anyone but him and some other friends. We also talked about video games. He also helped me understand bass clef a little bit more so I could pass my music theory test. 

I played video games with Alex quite a bit. He always made tons of jokes and was just a colorful and outgoing person. The mood of an online session was never dark or boring when he was on. He always showed positivity towards people who were positive to him, so Alex was just a great guy to hang out with and I am going to miss those times.

Alex was a very smart, sweet, awesome caring boy.   He and my daughter Olivia were very close, she was his “girlfriend” in Elementary school.   Sheila was so very gracious to our family.  We spent many days at their home in Frisco, TX.  Lots of wonderful memories.  

I remember when me and my dad went to visit the Rhodes’s and Alex took me to his fishing spot. When we got there he told me they only like bread so he fished and caught nothing I put the rod in the water and caught one right away, I remember he was so shocked it was so funny. He asked me what my secret was and I told him then he tried and caught one right away he was so happy it made me happy and we walked back to the house with smiles. That’s my memory. 

While I was a horrible Aunt that always seemed to forget Alex’s birthday (I would then send a card with interest on money as a joke) ; I always remember the events on the day he was born. I remember how worried were all were because he was early and his lungs were not mature. Then, once healthy, he was big and strong. The first time I heard him sing Sinatra I was blown away! He was so talented. Then his jokes; always so funny. Over the last year I have talked to him shortly every night as he was gaming and talking to Famous II. He would mock me for nagging his cousin and we would have a fun banter. I am missing those moments every night now. I remember Tennessee just a few months ago when he braved his fear and crossed the creek to stand on a rock with Bree. He was finally finding his way. He was developing into one of the most fun and unique young adults I have ever known. Alex, you were amazing. The world truly lost a light when you left us. We love you so much. 

I remember Alex as a 6 year old trying to keep up with his older sister on her bike and him on a Green Machine.  He surprised me at how mature he acted at times even though he looked like a 6 year old. He was quick to smile and always seemed so confident in himself. 

alex was such a special person. he was incredibly intelligent, unique and supportive towards others. he helped me through a lot of rough stuff in the short year that i knew him. he was always the best person in the room, no matter what room you were in. he gave the greatest advice that you could ask for, regardless of the situation. he had a delicate yet intricate way with his speech which was so amazing, he was sophisticated in all of the best ways. he was a real blessing to me and everyone else in his class that knew him. i am praying for the rhodes family constantly and offering support in the grieving process. your son was a true light and i was proud to call him a friend. thank you for raising him to be the kindest person around <3

My buddy Alex,

Thank you for your smiles. Thank you for your care. Thank you for your attitude. I always knew I could count on you and your sweet heart to have nice things to say. I know you looked up to me and I was always honored to be that for you. I was always so proud of you, sharing your smiles, spreading love, and not standing for hate. I remember a few weeks ago your sister, Jayden had to leave band rehearsal a little sudden and early and I gave you her stuff for you to take home to her. Of course I saw and cherished your attitude on a couple occasions after that, but I believe it was the last time we spoke. I’ll always remember the last thing you said to me being “You’re a real one Gavin.” You’ll never leave my heart Alex, You’re a real one too.

Alex, I have too many memories of you so I'm going to say this for all of us in class of 2023. We all love you

Dear Alex,
I love you unconditionally. You were one of the few lights in my life at my lowest points. You always made me feel so beautiful and so loved. I feel numb without you, your gentle gaze and you infectious laugh. I loved every word that left your mouth, stutter and all. You always told me you hated it, but I loved it just like I've always loved all of you. You had so many insecurities but each one made me love you more. I never knew how someone so perfect could feel so much self doubt. An amazing singer and musician, a hilarious and strong man who always tried to make others happy  It'll be hard without the man I fell in love with, but hopefully you're in a better place and maybe one day we will meet again.
Fly high my sweet angel and be sure that I'll be praying for you and your loved ones.

Alex was a really special and kind hearted friend. He always made people laugh.  I will remember him as an amazing musician that was always striving to be the best.

I’ve only known Alex a few years, but he was one of the nicest  people I’d ever met.  He made everyone smile and laugh, and I will miss that. My condolences to his family and friends.

Spencer enjoyed gaming with Alex and performing in the Spain Park Marching Band with him.  We are sad and praying for Alex's entire family.

The amount of love this boy had. Alex and I were close at a time. I remember during our spring school play we always shared laughs and he was such a joy to have during rehearsals. Alex made it easy to talk and to be myself and that’s something I can’t do easily. He could talk to me for hours about nothing but he always made it feel like the most interesting conversation i’ve ever been a part of. He comforted me many many times when I was upset. He always cared so deeply for others. His heart and his intelligence wad unbelievable. No one could ever have been as one of a kind and sweet as he was. His close friends and family are in my heart because I know this hurts so badly. He will be forever in my heart.

Where do I even start? Alex was a brilliant person and brought such a unique perspective to every discussion he was a part of. I am so so sorry for your loss. Everyone who knew Alex is grieving and is sending you so much love. We all knew that Alex would go on to do something absolutely amazing and it’s a crime against the world that more people won’t be able to witness his brilliance. He will be dearly missed. 

I just wanted to send my condolences to the Rhodes family. My kids were in the band with Alex & he was a great kid that was always kind & respectful & full of life. I loved the time that our families spent talking about dogs & life after band practices last year. He will truly be missed!
