William P. Reaves

Born October 7, 1932 in Springfield, Missouri to Berl and Christine (Rech) Reaves, He married Charlotte Ann McKinney on March 9, 1957 in Peoria. She died September 26, 2022 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by parents; one brother, Eugene Reaves and one sister Rosalie (Reaves) Miller.

Surviving are one son, Curt (Lin) Reaves of South Pekin; one daughter, Angie Evans of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Wubben, Tiffany (Dean) Schneider, Bethany (DJ Jackson) Evans, Sheena (Chris) Curto, Malloree (Josh) Oetzel, Katie (Chauncey) Huddleston, Bridgette (Jake) Strickfaden and Austin (Nikki) Conner; 15 great-grandchildren.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 35 years in the tech center as a precision machinist.

Bill in his free-time enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife and grandchildren.

He was a member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in Green Valley.

His graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church, 13443 Townline Road, Green Valley, IL 61534.
