He was born April 22, 1950 in Niles Michigan to Donald Raymond and Helen (Cole) Benjamin. They preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sharon and one brother Mike.
He married Catherine Mae Heilman on July 2nd 2018 in Peoria County. She survives.
William is also survived by his two sons; Steven Benjamin of Buchanan Michigan, William (Lacie) Benjamin of Twentynine Palms California; three daughters, Eve (Israel) Reyes of Shamrock Texas, Trudy (Rocky) Ramey of Kingsport Tennessee, Rena (Jody) Harp of Pekin; 12 grandchildren, Haley, J.D., Trynity, Jessica, Michael, Rayden, Katelyn, Christian, Avery, Chelsey, Liam, Conor; three sisters, Linda, Patti, and Beverly.
William worked as a mechanic, and truck driver for many years. He was considered a Jack-of-all-trades.
William proudly served in the United States Army for 3 years during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed woodworking, putting things together, making buildings, houses and watching his grandsons J.D. and Michael at the dirt track races. He was so proud of his granddaughter Haley for being in the United States Navy. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held for William at a later date.
