Born October 10, 1953 in Jacksonville to Jesse and Virginia (Herrin) Workman, he married Janice Marie Dunn on July 8, 1972 in Wood River. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Warren Workman and one sister, Linda Randleman.
Surviving are two daughters, Tanya (Chris) Downey of Armington and Tosha (Brian) Dunnigan of Pekin; three grandchildren, Ceagan Marshall of Pekin, Fraley (Dustin) Stribling and Victoria Downey, both of Armington; one brother, Jesse Workman Jr. of Pekin; two sisters, Alice (Bob) Braden of East Alton, Brenda Colleman of Wood River and lifelong friend Terry (Carol) Monks of Pekin.
Wayne owned and operated Home Appliance Service in Pekin for over 35 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, gardening, hunting and trap shooting. He cherished time with and cared for his family.
He was a member of the Pekin Eagle’s Aerie #1869.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no visitation or services. Inurnment at Prairie-Haven Cemetery in Pekin will be held at a later date.
