W D Hale, 86, of Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of Pekin, Illinois, passed away in St. Cloud, Florida on Friday, December 16, 2016. He was born on October 15, 1930 in Rector, Arkansas to George and Maude Mae (Williams) Hale. He married Alma Mae Moore on June 9, 1951 in Pickett, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2010 in Kissimmee, Florida. He is also preceded in death by two sons, James Russell Hale and Benny Dwight Hale; one grandson; one great grandson; six brothers and one sister.
He is survived by four children, Barbara Mae Avery of Kissimmee, Florida, Brenda K. (Clint) McDaniels of Leesburg, Florida, Becky S. (Dennis) Gifford of Pekin, Illinois and Bobby D. Hale of St. Cloud, Florida. He has 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
He worked from1952 to 1978 as a machinist at the Sealtest Dairy in Peoria and later in maintenance for the Premier Company at Diamond Star Motors retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Kissimmee, Florida Moose Lodge.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, Illinois. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
