

Born December 12, 1942 in Effingham to Charles Ross and Mary Katherine (Babbs) Orrick, he married Darlene L. Chaney on October 26, 1963 in Forest City. She died July 18, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Orrick.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda (Edward) Schwinn of Pekin; one son, Douglas (Kelly) Orrick of Pekin; three grandchildren, Karson Orrick, Thomas “T.J” Orrick, III, and Connor Schwinn; and one brother, Lloyd (Marilyn) Orrick of Pekin.
He was a 1960 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
Tom worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 39 years, retiring in 1999 as a general foreman in the wire mill.
An avid golfer, Tom also enjoyed playing cards and watching Westerns. He had a great love for his family and never missed sharing in his grandchildren’s activities. He had a big heart for family, friends, and even animals.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Buddy Estes will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
