Terry L Deakin

Born April 8, 1944 in Pekin to Arthur and Vera (Knaak) Deakin, he married Margaret Kay “Marge” Bloom on December 8, 1962 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Scott (Kim) Deakin and Doug (Suzi) Deakin, both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Hillary (Matt) Knowles of Canton, Nate Deakin and Chelsie Calvert, both of Pekin, and Bodie Palmer of Manito; three great-granddaughters, Alexis, Olivia, and Elizabeth; and one brother, Ronnie (Joyce) Deakin of Copperas Cove, TX.

His parents and one brother, Harold Deakin, preceded him in death.

He was a 1962 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

Terry worked for Central Illinois Light Company for 37 years, retiring in 2004 as an underground lineman.

He was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916.

Family and friends were important to Terry and he always enjoyed helping others out. He enjoyed fishing in Bull Shoals, Arkansas.

His memorial service will be at 10 a.m.Friday, October 3, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary Ford will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at their home.
