Born April 1, 1960 in Pekin to Willis Gordon and Viola Mae (Gehrls) Hyatt, she married Larry Wayne Sayles on November 3, 2000 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Viola Hyatt of Pekin; one sister, Rebecca K. (Willis "Bud") Moore of Pekin; one brother, Lindsey G. (Valari) Hyatt of Pekin; one step-daughter, Carry Tiller of Spanish Fort, Alabama; one step-son, Darren R. Connett of Pekin; three step-grandchildren; three nieces; and three nephews.
Her father preceded her in death on May 19, 2005.
A 1978 graduate of Pekin Community High School, she graduated from Illinois Central College in East Peoria and later received her bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Tammy worked in the accounting department at CBT Company in Peoria for several years, last working in May 2005. Previously, she worked at Pekin Insurance and Pekin National Bank.
She was a member of Normandale Reformed Church in Pekin, where she was a former choir member.
Tammy enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, and reading.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2007at Normandale Reformed Church in Pekin. The Rev. Tom Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
