Shirley Ann Vansaghi

Born May 10, 1938 in Wellfleet, Massachusetts to Elwood and Phyllis (Conti) Taylor, she first married Robert Eugene Smith. She later married Charles Vansaghi in 2003 in Manito. He died April 13, 2019 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Don Smith and two brothers, Robert Taylor and Richard Taylor.

Surviving are one son, Robert Smith of Hyannis, Massachusetts; two daughters, Sherry (Rodney) Emmons of Manito and April (Dan) Riggs of Rockford; four step-sons, Kelly (Sue) Vansaghi of Pekin, Tony (Donetta) Vansaghi of South Pekin, Greg (Miro) Vansaghi of San Antonio, Texas and Randy (Lorie Recar) Vansaghi of Pekin; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Shirley last worked for Autumn Accolade in Green Valley. She also had previously worked at Hopedale Commons.

In her retirement years, Shirley loved traveling with her husband, Charles. They would often visit casinos and enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. No services or visitation are planned at this time. Cremation rites will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
