Shirley J. Shryock, 84, of Pekin, Illinois, formerly of Glasford and Green Valley, Illinois died Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Mason City Nursing Home in Mason City, Illinois. She was born on January 16, 1928 in Monticello, Illinois. She was the daughter of Ora and Lucille (Riley) Hubbart. She married Charles V. Shryock on October 9, 1948 in Glasford, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1984 in Pekin, Illinois. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Earl (Boots) Hubbart, and two sisters, Lois Hubbart and Gladys Rinehart.
Shirley is survived by four children, Andrea (Bill) Hill of Glasford, Illinois, Judy (Joe) Jackson of Green Valley, Illinois, Thomas Shryock of Pekin, Illinois and Virgil Shryock of Caldwell Texas. She is survived by one brother, Ora (Bud) Hubbart of East Peoria, Illinois. Shirley was very Family oriented and very proud of her Family. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She has 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, Zayne, Zoey and Oliver making 5 generations.
Shirley worked at the Peoria State Hospital and the Elks Lodge in Pekin for many years.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, Illinois. The Rev. Ken Linder will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery.
