Born April 21, 1950 in Pekin to John G. and Mona R. (Sisler) Piro, she married Stephen Sego in 1968. They later divorced.
Surviving are four children, Stephanie (Jerry Short) Womeldorff of Pekin, John Sego of Logansport, Indiana, Philip (Stacy) Sego of Washburn and Kayla Sego of California; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and two sisters, Valerie (Dan) Wilkes of Kenosha, WI and Ramona (Dave) Flurer of Normal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Janine and one sister, Diane Fryer.
Sherry worked as a bank teller at Herget Bank in Pekin for many years before retiring.
Strong in her faith, Sherry loved volunteering at her Kingdom Hall and helping people understand the Bible. She enjoyed watching movies, reading, journaling her life experiences, staying in touch with her friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She attended Sunrise Congregation at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in East Peoria.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in East Peoria. Brother Darren Williams will officiate. There will be no visitation. For those unable to attend in person, Zoom will be available. Contact a family member for more information.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
