Born May 10, 1941 in Pekin to Everett Wayne and Myrtle Louise (Montgomery) Severns, she married Alton Alfred Bradshaw on November 26, 1960 in South Pekin. He died on September 22, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dwight Severns; one sister, Darlene Tower and one cousin, who was raised as a brother, Everett “Bing” Severns.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (Greg) Dietz of Greenwood, South Carolina and Diane (Perry) Steinsultz of Pekin; one son, Tim (Joni) Bradshaw of Peoria; five grandchildren, Hali Bradshaw, Megan (Josh) Eckhoff, Erika Dietz, Alex Dietz, and Perry Steinsultz, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Emily Eckhoff; one brother, Bill (Joy) Severns of Pekin and one sister, Phylis (Jim) Todd of Pekin.
Sharon had worked for the State of Illinois as a support staff at DCFS for 20 years before retiring in 2005. Sharon also worked at Pekin Community High School on West Campus as a secretary in the guidance office from 1980 to 1984.
A loving and dedicated wife, mom and grandma, she loved music, feeding birds and working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed reading and going on walks.
Sharon was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin, where she taught Sunday School and Junior Church.
Her graveside service will be at noon on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Woodrow Cemetery in South Pekin. Pastor Chip Herbert will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
