Born July 13, 1934 in Brushey, Missouri to Lonnie L. and Janie M. (Ferguson) Watson, she married John Edward “Eddie” Pyatt on February 27, 1953 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sandra (Edward) Buck of Pekin; one son, John E. (Alice “Barney”) Pyatt of Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Melanie Wood, Lindsey Woolever, both of Pekin, Kevin Pyatt of Noble, Oklahoma and Zachary Buck of Tremont; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Buck and Rylan Woolever; one sister, Lois Voyles of Pekin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William L. Watson and Denton D. Watson and two sisters, Lela Todd and Delola Terrell.
A homemaker, Shannon was an avid reader and liked to sew. She enjoyed wintering in Donna, Texas from 1996 to 2007 and then moved there full time until 2020 when she and her husband returned to reside at The Lodge in Manito. Shannon had resided at Hallmark since August.
She was a former member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in rural Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
