Born July 2, 1947 in Pekin to James M. and Dorothy Bernadine (McGinnis) Fryman, she married David Edward Keedy on August 20, 1967 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Tammi (Marty) Lyons of East Peoria; two sons, Matthew (Angel) Keedy of Forest, Virginia and Michael (Jennifer) Keedy of Tremont; ten grandchildren, Emma Keedy, Calli Lyons, Ada Keedy, Maddox Lyons, Ella Keedy, Lincoln Keedy, Jack Lyons, Judah Keedy, Evangeline Keedy and Ezra Keedy and one sister, Carol Fryman of Pekin.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Sandra was passionate about cooking and baking for her family. She also loved babysitting and caring for her grandchildren.
In earlier years, she had worked for Corn Products Company in Pekin and later worked part-time for Herget Bank in Pekin. She also served as a longtime election judge in Tazewell County.
Sandra was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland, where she actively served in the nursery, with Awanas, Vacation Bible School and with Ladies Bible Studies. She loved the Bible and read it faithfully. One of her favorite life verses was Jeremiah 15:16, “Thy Word was unto me, the joy and rejoicing of my heart…”
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jonathan Chadbourn will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
