Born July 16, 1955 in Normal to Robert Bruce and Dora Pauline (Gordon) Brown, he was raised by Ron Rhodes. He married Carol Lewis on March 3, 1974 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Daniel (Jenny) Brown of Pekin, Samantha Brown of Peoria and Eli (Remy) Brown of Pekin; five grandchildren, Lillian, Toby, Alex, Neko and Stephen and extended family members, Dawn Harris and Thai Cornwell, both of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Sam worked as an electrician.
He loved woodworking, gardening and greeting cars around the neighborhood. He also loved home improvement projects, bird watching and feeding the squirrels.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No services are scheduled at this time.
