Ruth Eleanor Topper

Born January 6, 1932 to Charles and Edna (Church) Hopkins, she married Robert L. Topper on July 4, 1975.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son, Richard Aper; her daughter, Gail Tucker Day; grandson, Sean Aper; granddaughter, Tracy Aper, and eight brothers and sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Cathy (Dana) Crawford, of Mesa AZ; two grandchildren, Jaime (Peter) Knoble of San Sebastian, PR and Frederick (Jen) Blanchard of Glasford; one brother and four great grandsons.

When her grandchildren were younger, Ruth loved to take them camping to Branson, Missouri in her pop top camper. For decades, she would make Sunday dinners and serve them as early as possible so she could pack her husband and grandchildren in the car to go shopping in Bloomington or Galesburg. She loved country music and Westerns, slot machines and bus trips with friends. She doted over her West Highland Terrier, Benji, and her granddog, Diesel, and called them “her boys”.

A funeral service will be held at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Pekin on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Craig Hislope will officiate. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
