Born July 5, 1927 in Sullivan to Charles and Fay (Mariner) Jackson, she married Clyde Logsdon on August 30, 1944 in Sullivan. He died May 11, 1998 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, and two brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Trina S. (Ernest) Magan and Lula F. (Frank) McMullen, both of Pekin; one son, James A. (Carol) Logsdon, Sr. of Bloomington; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Elsie) Jackson of Lovington and Elbert (Mag) Jackson of Sullivan; one sister, Carmen Lord of Pekin; and eighteen nieces and nephews, including Charlotte Schroeder of Springfield, who was raised by Ruth and later helped care for her.
Ruth and her husband lived in Pekin from 1948 to 1968, and then farmed with her husband in Smithfield for 32 years. She also worked at the Kopper Kettle in Ellisville for 12 years.
She loved to sew and quilt and to generously shower her family and friends with those gifts. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be missed terribly.
Friends and family are welcome to attend her graveside service at noon Thursday, February 16, 2006at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Mike Jackson, her brother, will officiate. There will be a luncheon following at Pekin Bible Church, 2405 Court Street in Pekin for friends and family.
