Ruth L Bjork

Born November 28, 1926 in Peoria to Clarence and Ruth (Cunningham) Stahl, she married Carl Bjork on October 31, 1944 in Chicago.  He died in 1995 in Arizona.  She also was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, one daughter, Ruth Marie Holford; one grandson, Chris Oakman; and one great-great-grandson.

Surviving are one daughter, Vicki (Kenneth) Todd of Henry; three sons, Carl (Pat) Bjork of Arizona, Robert (Cindi) Bjork and William (Tina) Bjork, both of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Don Stahl of Mossville.

Ruth was a homemaker and waitress.  She, along with her husband owned and operated Ruth & Carl’s in Sunnyland for many years, until its closing in 1978.

She was a very giving person, especially to her children and grandchildren.  She was a wonderful cook and quite the wit.

Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
