Russell "Sonny" Thomas Jr.

Born October 4, 1946 in Pekin, he was the son of Russell Harry and Vera Pauline (Kettering) Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Thomas.

Surviving are one sister, Ruth A. McGinnis of Pekin; one brother, Bryan Thomas of Katy, Texas; and two half sisters, Carole Jean Burke of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Diana Kay Andrae of Powell, Wyoming.

Russell had worked in construction hanging drywall and as a dishwasher at a nursing home in Springfield.

He was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church in Springfield.

He enjoyed walking and attended every Junior Blues Hockey game. He also never missed a Springfield Sliders baseball game.

Cremation will be accorded. No services or visitation will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
