Russell W Myers

Born September 25, 1922 in Kilbourne to Orvie and Elsie (Lascelles) Myers, he married Winifred Mitchell on August 23, 1956 in Chicago.  She died June 7, 2001.

Also preceding in death were his parents and 4 brothers.

Surviving are 1 son, Ricki (Tina) Myers of Pekin; 1 daughter, Renee Bonk, of Pekin; 5 grandchildren, Wade (Maranda) Bonk and Travis (Jamie) Bonk, both of Pekin, Ricki (Darla) Myers, Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas, and Russell A. (Cody) Myers and Tina ( Anthony Johnson) Myers, both of Joplin, Missouri;10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. One brother; Donald (Phyllis)Myers of Pekin.

Russell worked for American Distilling Company in Pekin for 34 years and later worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 5 years

He served in India with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Russell was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin for over 60 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 26th at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Brad Martin will officiate.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.  Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
