Ruby Ann Johnston

She was born May 20, 1964 in Peoria to James Charles and Rita Ann (Bohannon) Roberson.

Surviving are her parents of Forest City; two sons, Joe Meredith and Jordan Meredith, both of Washburn and one sister, Carrie (Dean) Meiner of Forest City. She also leaves her fiancé, Doug Miller of Forest City.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Alyssa Faith Meredith; one brother, Farrest E. Roberson and her grandparents.

Ruby was presently employed as an associate at Wal-Mart in Pekin, last working in September. She previously worked as a bartender for 15 years in the area.

An avid pool player, she played in an American Poolplayers Association league for the Fitz Inn in Green Valley. She also did a lot of fishing and enjoyed watching movies. Ruby was especially fond of her dogs, Baby and Trinity.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Spring Lake Missionary Church in rural Manito. Pastor Tom Schakat will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Forest City Cemetery.
