Ron spent most of his career as a machinist at Progress Rail in Danvers.
He was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Mackinaw where he had been involved in their food pantry ministry.
An avid Peoria Rivermen fan, the game will never be the same without his loud whistles and his goofy chicken dance. Ron also was a fan of the Chicago Black Hawks and Green Bay Packers. He was a Jack of all trades, handyman, roofer, plumber and mechanic and enjoyed grilling outdoors. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family. He was so excited about being a part of his daughter Hannah’s recent engagement.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Tim Severt will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home and Thursday morning an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
