Ronald Lewis Sonderman

Born August 5, 1951 in Ripley, Tennessee to Allen Eugene and Jennie Audrey (Crook) Sonderman, he married June Rose Eggers on July 20, 1991 in Groveland. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Jason (Kelly) Sonderman of North Pekin, Rick Denham of Morton and Glenn (Tawnya) Denham of Pekin; five daughters, Lisa (James) Starr of Arizona, Stacy (Harley) Walls of Newbern, Tennessee, Susan (Howard) VanHouton of Farmington, Linda Paup of Morton and Donna (Eric) Stokes of Bartonville; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four sisters, Loretta (Carl) Richmond of Tennessee, Ola Walker of Tennessee, Becky Appleyard of North Pekin, Joyce “JoJo” Baugh of South Pekin and four brothers, Tim Sonderman of Tennessee, Stan Sonderman of Tennessee, Mike Sonderman of Pekin and David Leroy Sonderman of North Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul Denham; two brothers, Eugene Sonderman and Ray Sonderman and one sister, Brenda Dosier.

Ron was an over-the-road truck driver his whole life. For many years he delivered fuel for Casey’s General Stores and retired in 2013. He previously worked driving for Munson Transportation, Jolliff Transportation and Chemtech. He enjoyed working summers at Lakeside Cemetery for many years.

Ron liked old cars and especially enjoyed restoring his old Ford, his white Trans Am, Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. He enjoyed fishing and doing most anything outside in the summer. He also enjoyed playing some guitar when younger and was known for always wearing his cowboy boots and hat.

A celebration life gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory. Inurnment will be in Lightfoot Cemetery in Ripley, Tennessee at a later date.
