Robert Eugene Bramham

Born September 7, 1949 in Peoria to Thomas Elton and Ella Louise (Haynes) Bramham, he married Barb Ferguson on February 8, 1969 in Marquette Heights. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, John Bramham of Creve Coeur and Sue (Brian Smith) Bramham of Delavan; one step-son, James Ferguson, Jr. of Pekin; five grandchildren, August (Hayley) Bushong of Florida, Bennett Bramham of Delavan, Trystan Bramham of Lincoln, Michaela (Cameron) Kramer of Bloomington and Colton Bramham of East Peoria; one great-grandson, Xavier Lee Bushong of Florida; two sisters, Mary Plotts of Livingston and Kathy Welchman of Pekin; three nephews, David Welchman of Pekin, Chris (Denise) Welchman of North Pekin and Steve (Jo) Johnson of Edwardsville and one sister-in-law, Mary Hangartner of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one half-brother, Thomas Bramham.

Robert worked for Heat & Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 17 in Tinley Park, retiring after 35 years of service. He previously worked as a Police Officer in Marquette Heights.

He was a dedicated, hardworking man who would give anyone the shirt off his back. He loved spending time and taking care of his family and spoiled his grandchildren rotten. He lovingly referred to his daughter as “Hinkie” and his son as “John John”.

Robert enjoyed traveling together with his wife and dog missy. They would take their RV and explore all over. Their favorite destination was Mesa, Arizona. He also enjoyed camping, boating and water sports. He was into politics and even ran for city council. He loved going for car rides with his nephew and dog, Inky.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of Roberts’s life will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 2201 East Washington Street, East Peoria, Illinois 61611.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate, 530 Northeast Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, Illinois 61637.
