Born October 9, 1935 in Princeville to Alva Francis and Dorothy Margaret (Adams) Pullen, he married Mary Ellen Epkins on December 9, 1956 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Tana Pullen of Lincoln; one son, Troy (Laurie) Pullen of Tennessee; two grandsons, Zachary and Tyler Pullen, both of Tennessee; three sisters, Judy Carroll of Geneseo, Sharon (Jack) Heflin of Arkansas and Diana (Jim) Reading of Dunlap and one brother, Randy Pullen of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arden was a veteran of the United States Army. He served his tour of duty in Germany from 1954 to 1956 as a private pilot who had a flight instructors rating.
He worked as an electrician at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. from 1957 to 1971. He also worked as a private homebuilder and electrician.
Arden and Mary Ellen lived in Pekin for nine years and in Manito for over 50 years. There they owned and operated Ardellen Electrical Supplies from 1969 to 1996.
Arden was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ballroom dancing and bicycling with his wife.
He was a member of Pekin Lighthouse Church of God.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Rob Christenberry will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
