Born September 18, 1935 in Forest City to Oliver W. and Margaret G. (Woodley) Null, he married Patricia J. Duley on November 25, 1955 in Pekin. She died December 11, 2015.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Darrick Bolson; great-grandson, Cameron Bolson; ten brothers; two sisters and four sons-in-law, Joe Jackson, Jim Bolson, Don Smith and Jim Plue.
Surviving are his four daughters, Cindy Jackson of Pekin, Lori (Brian Hoffman) Bolson of East Peoria, Kathy (Tom) Wallace of Chillicothe, and Denise Plue of Pekin; two sons, Richard (Sarah) Null, Jr. of Washington and Michael (Michelle) Null of Manito; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Raymond Null of Pekin.
Richard was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center 916 for 30 years.
Retiring in 1990, Richard was a Control Room Operator at the Commonwealth Edison Powerton Station in Pekin.
An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Dick loved all sports, especially watching his grandchildren throughout the years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mushrooming.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Nathan Noyes will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
