Richard "Tim" Timothy Jacobs

Born August 15, 1946 in Pekin to Richard A. and Thelma Melbarine “Mel” (Henderson) Jacobs, he married Joyce M. Hilst on August 19, 1967 in Creve Coeur.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years; one daughter, Anita (Tim) Ryan of Lake Villa; one son, Richard E. Jacobs of Pekin; three grandsons, Timothy, Mackenzie and Sean and two sisters, Sandra (John) Bressner of East Peoria and Joyce (Gene) Wade of Nixa, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Thelma Joanne Svendsen.

Tim was a past member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869 in Pekin and Pekin Moose Family Center #916.

He had worked as an auto mechanic at Velde Cadillac Buick GMC Inc. in Pekin for 43 years, retiring in 2009.

An avid hunter, Tim enjoyed watching his children play sports and coaching youth sports at the Boys & Girls Club in Pekin and Rankin Schools summer baseball and softball. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce.

Private family services have been held. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
