Born September 20, 1949 in Spokane, WA to John H. and Josephine (McBritty) Bancroft, he married Margaret Hobbs on May 22, 1971 in Decatur. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Zach (Ella) Bancroft of Pekin; two daughters, Angel Bancroft of Washington and Michelle (Bryan) DeNure of Pekin; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Bancroft of Springfield, John (Reba) Bancroft of Joliet; two sisters, Gerri Egizio of Mississippi and Cindy (Sandy) Brown of Joliet .
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Randy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Randy worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Co. in Bartonville for 31 years, retiring in 2003. After retiring, he then worked as a shuttle driver for Avis Rental Car.
An avid fisherman, Randy loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed making knives and traveling. He was a collector of antique fishing lures and coins and enjoyed a good cigar. He was also a history buff, in particular, the Civil War era.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin where visitation will be one hour prior. Father Larry Zurek will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
