

Born June 13, 1934 in Gillespie to Randall F. and Anna M. (Broers) Hoehn, he married his partner of 37 years, Clifford Arthur Udry on June 12, 2014 in Lincoln. He died October 9, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Brennen D. Lorenz.
Surviving are his three children, Shawn (Terry Abernathy) Muth, Michael P. (Kelly) Hoehn, both of Pekin and Shannon R. Hoehn of Oklahoma; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Randall graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1953, he immediately went to work for Caterpillar Inc. for 41 years. He retired in 1994 as an engineering services supervisor.
In 1957 he was inducted into the U.S. Army, where he managed the artillery message center at Fort Lewis, Washington. His Army service ended February 1959.
Randall was a published author of poetry, whose work was included in the National Library of Poetry Anthology’s, “Endless Skies of Blue”. He also won the Editor’s Choice Award and first prize at the poetry contest sponsored by the Augustana College English Department in October, 1981.
He was also an accomplished artist, with many drawings in pencil as well as works with white pencil on black matt board. He enjoyed model building and making various works since childhood.
His memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday April 2, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Reverend David Ziegenbein will officiate.
