He was born October 24, 1959 in Chicago to Samuel and Carol Jeanne (Brush) DeRosa. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, John (Kacey) DeRosa of Chatham; three daughters, Shannon DeRosa of Pekin, Lindsay (Josh) Hawkins of Decatur and Samantha (Mark) Perez-Burgess of Pekin; two step-daughters, Brittany West and Breana West, both of Pekin; 14 grandchildren, Lucien, Madison, Arabella, Landon, Wyatt, Aubreyonna, Jackson, Trent, Trinity, Alyonna, Kendrick, Ka’Mya, Sophia and Brently; three siblings, Vince (Cindy) DeRosa of Lombard, Joe (Gina) DeRosa of Creve Coeur and Laura (James) Ping of Peoria; several nieces and nephews and his significant other, Debbie West.
Phillip worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville for 37 years.
He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Phil also loved riding his Harley Davidson Sport Soft Tail and playing pool. He also enjoyed cooking and was known for this homemade red sauce. He loved spending time with his family and his “grandpups” Ozzie, Kaida and Nora.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Gene Brush will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
