Patricia A. Vest

Born April 18, 1941 in Spring Valley to Dominic and Marie (Bain) Bondi, she married Ronald Kent Vest on November 7, 1959 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He survives.

Also surviving are six children, Chris Vest of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Theresa (Steve) Meister of Chillicothe, Edward (Traci) Vest of Piedmont, South Carolina, Veronica Elliott of Boca Raton, Florida, Bernard “Bud” (Jennifer) Vest of Bartonville and James (Pamela) Vest of Wilmington, North Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one nephew; one niece and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Bondi. Pat was a beloved daughter and a gracious caregiver for her parents and all family members.

As her husband says, “to know her is to love her.”

A homemaker, Pat will be fondly remembered as a beautiful wife of 64 years and as a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Pat was a devout Catholic and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria, where she served with the pantry for many years. For over 17 years, she also enjoyed volunteering at Wildlife Prairie Park in Peoria.

Her memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria. Father William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before Mass at the church. Inurnment will follow Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
