Born June 6, 1968 in Morris, she was the daughter of Jerome Charles and Judith Kay (DeWitt) Sokolowski. She married Ronald Lee Simpson on August 11, 1991 in Pekin at First Assembly of God. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Judith Kay (DeWitt) Sokolowski of Pekin; her father and stepmother, Jerome and Elaine Sokolowski of Dunlap; three siblings, Scott Sokolowski of Pekin, Kristen (Robert) Sokolowski Smith of Munster, Indiana and Kim Jones of Stanley, North Carolina; six nieces and three nephews.
Pam worked as a traveling certified nursing assistant for 23 years. She last worked in 2018. From 1987 to 2010, Pam worked at Pekin Manor in their Alzheimer’s Unit.
She enjoyed camping and fishing and playing the piano. She also enjoyed art and drawing and was an involved member of the deaf community on behalf of her husband.
Pam was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pekin. She enjoyed reading the Bible and participating in Bible studies.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Vernon Risner will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the memorial service at the church. Cremation has been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
