Born May 3, 1949 in Libertyville to William James and Lorraine Elizabeth (Fisher) Holub, he married Judith Lynne Weimar on November 27, 1971 in Lake Zurich. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jennifer (Paul) Scherer, Michael (Jodi) Holub and Beth Reese, all of Pekin; 10 grandchildren, Hannah (Benjamin) Folgert, Jacob Scherer, Abbigail Holub, William Holub, Colton Holub, Jacey Knox, Jordyn Knox, Jansen Knox and Jenna and Isaac Reese, all of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Larry Holub and one sister, JoAnn Graham.
Michael was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.
He was self-employed for 30 years doing tax services and worked as a dairy farmer. He also worked at Tyler Technology in customer service for six years. He retired in 2015.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton.
His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton. Pastor Jeff Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Military rites will be accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and the United States Army.
