Born July 25, 1954 in Fort Benning, Georgia to Lawrence Viles and Carol Yvonne (Ehrett) Davis, he married Janice Corrine Seiss on January 8, 2000 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jeremie (Tonya) Davis of Marquette Heights, Stephanie (Tom) Sullivan and Jason Davis, both of Pekin; two stepsons, Brendon (Crystal) Schultz of Lake Camelot and Wesley (Alexandra) Schultz of Bastrop, Texas; five grandchildren, Ethan Sullivan, Andrew Sullivan, Chancellor Davis, Gabriel Davis and Hunter Schultz; one sister, Tammy Branchfield of North Carolina; his stepmother, Sharon Davis of Metamora; two step-sisters, Beth (Dan) Ledbetter of Washburn and Stacey Hibbs of Maryland; his mother-in-law, Dixie Seiss of Pekin and his sister-in-law, Sherry (Dave) Redfield of Pekin and a brother-in-law, Jeff (Shannon) Seiss of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one half-brother, Leo Davis and a brother-in-law, Lynn Seiss.
Mike was a 1972 graduate of Pekin Community High School and had attended Illinois Central College.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2002 from the Mossville plant.
Mike enjoyed doing yard work and gardening. He also enjoyed bowling and was in a bowling league for many years.
Mike was an active member of Summit Point Church in East Peoria.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Tim Harkness and Pastor Mike Klopfenstein will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
