Mary L. Mandrell, 85, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away Thursday evening at the Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 31, 1931 in Benton, Illinois to Oscar and Mary (Dorris) West. She married Jack Mandrell on August 14, 1948 in Benton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2016 in Peoria, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Joe West and one sister, Fern Brantley.
She is survived by five children, Stanley (Judith) Mandrell of Pekin, Vickie (David) Masters of Dahinda, Cary (Megan) Mandrell of East Peoria, Sheila (Bill) Farris and Sonia (Kenny) Jones both of Pekin. She has 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson surviving. She also has one brother, Johnnie (Margaret) West and one sister, Ruth Ann Owens both of Benton, Illinois.
Mary was a charter member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin since 1953, where she was a church secretary for 16 years and enjoyed her church family very much. She loved attending family sporting events over the years for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Cardinal fan.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin. Pastor Roger Lipe will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin and 30 minutes prior at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery.
