Born December 14, 1916 in Brereton to Frank and Maggie May (McGowan) Nelson, she married George E. Sidell on February 23, 1935 in Pekin. He died May 21, 2004 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Jo Ann Seagraves of Pekin; five sons, George E. “Bud,” Jr. (Beverly) Sidell of Sunnyland, William L. (Linda) Sidell, Jerry J. (Barbara) Sidell, Michael J. Sidell and Kenneth R. (Susan) Sidell, all of Pekin; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Martha was a homemaker.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. John M. Duden, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
