Born February 14, 1936 in Mason City to Harry and Katherine (Stewart) Laumeier, she married Leland Curtis on April 18, 1953 in Pekin. He died January 8, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Harlan Laumeier, Earl Laumeier, Eleanor Harris and Betty Wiseman.
Surviving are four daughters, Kim Birkmeier of Pekin, Teri (Micheal) Heaton of Van Buren, Arkansas, Lori (John) Drummer of Pekin and Mary (Rhett) Barnes of Pekin; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, Kay enjoyed crafting and spending time with family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
A gathering celebrating Kay’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
