Born January 10, 1934 near Rockport, Indiana, she was the daughter of Victor and Margaret (Jones) Daming. She married Hubert M. Kegley on August 1, 1953 in Rockport. He died December 1, 2010 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Derek Meyer and Cale Bricka; one daughter-in-law, Geri Kegley; three brothers, Carlos Daming, Robert Daming and Harold Daming and two sisters, Joyce Seib and Virginia Coleman.
Surviving are four daughters, Vicki (Bill) Hart, Valerie (Vic) Bricka, both of Pekin, Kimberly Miller of Bloomington and Angela (Tom) Williamson of Pekin; five sons, Anthony “Tony” Kegley, Patrick Kegley, both of Pekin, Keith Kegley of Victoria, Kevin (Dawn) Kegley of Forney, Texas and Chris Kegley of Pekin; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, William (Janice) Daming of Florissant, Missouri and Steve (Linda) Daming of Rockport, Indiana.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
Margaret’s life was centered on her family and her church. She was a gifted seamstress and graciously made many special pieces for her church and family. In recent years she made over 300 baby quilts and countless 'rosary pockets' bringing joy to everyone she met. Margaret was a homemaker and loving mother. She loved cooking for large family gatherings.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with the recitation of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow the funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
