He was born December 14, 1985 in Peoria to Steven Dale Pauli and Susan Hood. He was preceded in death by his father February 14, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne F. and Dorothy Hood and his paternal grandfather, Rolland Pauli.
Surviving are his mother Susan Hood of Morton; two brothers, Steven Pauli of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Joe Force of Marseilles; his paternal grandmother, Louise Pauli of Peoria.
Lynn served in the United States Army for six years. He was the Distinguished Honor Graduate in Basic Training (1st of 200) and also in Tactical Air Traffic Controller’s Training (1st of 14). He graduated as a Pathfinder, expert in land navigation and tactical operations and as a Paratrooper from U.S. Army Airborne School. Lynn served as the facility chief of a heliport in Seoul that serviced the Korean equivalent of the Pentagon. Lynn was on a military funeral honors team that conducted funeral services for fallen veterans. While serving, Lynn attended evening classes and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science & Technology, with a minor in Air Traffic Control.
Lynn later worked in California as a Certified Professional Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center. He served as a Legislative Representative on behalf of the National Air Traffic Controller’s Association. He retired in 2019.
Lynn graduated as Certified Advanced Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach from the National Personal Trainer’s Institute in Santa Monica, California.
He had a passion for physical fitness and loved the outdoors, hiking in California’s National Parks and the San Gabriel Mountains near his home. He enjoyed running, cycling, paddle boarding and had attempted to teach himself to surf.
Lynn was also passionate about traveling, having visited India, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday July 16, 2021 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor Brandon Houseworth will officiate. A gathering will held for friends and family following the service. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
