Born February 15, 1930 in Mohawk, West Virginia to Acy and Josie (Cline) Hunt, he married Mary M. Terry on November 10, 1950 in West Virginia.
Surviving his wife of 73 years; two daughters, Glenda Hunt-Hagen and Debra (Bruce) Peters, both of Pekin; five grandchildren, Tim Embry, Hans Hagen IV, Rachel Embry, Stephanie Eertmoed and Valinda Peters all of Pekin; seven great-grandchildren, Hans V, Kaden, Alivia, Colin, Jake, Bella and Travis and one great-grandson, Bryson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Hunt; one grandson, Jeremy Hunt and seven siblings.
Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War.
He had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria as a Millwright for 30 years retiring in 1980. He was a member of the UAW Local 974 in East Peoria. Following retirement, he built and remodeled several homes in the area.
Tony loved gardening and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a busy body who enjoyed tinkering.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
