Lola P Petrone

Born April 25, 1938 in Loami to Homer and Ruth (Collins) Barker, she married Michael Anthony Petrone on January 25, 1958 in Springfield. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael David (Julie) Petrone of Peoria Heights and Matthew Joseph Petrone of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Anthony Michael Petrone of Peoria Heights and Nicole Lynn (Robert) Thompson of East Peoria; eight great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Jade.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Homer “Gene” Barker, Charles Barker and Donald Barker; one infant son, Thomas Joseph Petrone and one grandson, Joseph Robert Petrone.

Lola was a Registered Nurse at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, retiring in 1999. She received her nursing degree from Illinois Central College in 1956. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her celebration of life memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 2201 East Washington in East Peoria. Pastor Fred Doughty will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
