Lillie Mitchell

Born November 22, 1964 in Pekin to Richard L. and Mary R. (Goodwin) Cremeens, she married Dennis W. Mitchell. He died July 22, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Kaylee Jo Melton; two sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Cremeens and Rosemary Cremeens; grandparents, Roy and Eva Cremeens, Sr. and Hiram and Mary Goodwin and her mother-in-law, Janine L. Mitchell.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Amanda Melton) Mitchell of Delavan and Dennis (Ashley Eckstein) Mitchell of Washington; one grandson, Lincoln Douglas Mitchell; two brothers, Rick (Linda) Cremeens of Canton and Leroy (Penny) Cremeens of Banner; two sisters, Helen Cremeens and Pamela (Brian) Chester, both of Pekin; many nieces and nephews; her father-in-law Richard Mitchell; two sister-in-laws, Janet Mitchell and Jodie Crabtree and one brother-in-law, Mark Mitchell.

A homemaker, Lillie enjoyed working on art projects, coloring and spending time with her grandson. Earlier in her life she also enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and nature watching.

A gathering celebrating Lillie’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
