Born June 11, 1942 in Canton to E. Lyle and Beatrice V. (Arnold) Miller, he married Freda V. Tharp on September 10, 1966 at the Kingston Mines United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years; one son, Jeff (Cindy) Miller of Pekin; one daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Vogel of King George, Virginia; four grandchildren, Jordan Miller and Jalyn Miller, both of Pekin, Dianna (Chris) Vogel-Boye’r of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Monica (Andrew) Barth of Solomons, Maryland and one sister, Marilyn Hunt of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Cagle.
Lynn had worked at Pioneer Park Supply for 30-plus years before retiring in 2011.
He was a former member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916 and Glasford Optimist Club, where he coached his son’s baseball and daughter’s softball teams for many years.
Lynn was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching all sports, including Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears and Illini Basketball. He enjoyed playing pool, baseball and bowling. He found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He never missed an event to be with his family.
He was a longtime member of Kingston Mines United Methodist Church and helped through the years wherever was needed.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at Kingston Mines United Methodist Church. Pastor Erin Totten-Jones will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
