Born April 14, 1972 in Pekin to Karen Melton, she married Anthony Galetti in Pekin. They later divorced. She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Carter; maternal grandparents, Wilma and William Melton and one uncle, Kevin Ales.
Surviving are her adopted father, Harlan Carter of Pekin; two children, Amber (Christopher) Kelly of Pekin and Noah Galetti of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Annabel and Ganon Kelly, both of Pekin; six siblings, Becky (Rob) Lanzara of San Jose, Harlan Carter of Hartsburg, Timothy (Cheryl) Carter of Delavan, Geraldine (Frederick) Arbuckle of Peoria, Mikki (Ken) Ihnen of Green Valley and Chrissy (Bart) Conner of Washington.
A homemaker, Kim loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed helping people anyway she could and had a great sense of humor. She was often looked at as a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. She also loved animals, singing and rooting for her favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.
She was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Pekin.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
