Kennith E. Vaughn

Born May 27, 1934 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Carl Richard and Ruth Sarah (Hampton) Vaughn, he married Beverly J. “Bev” Fleischauer on July 12, 1987 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Keith Vaughn of Pekin; one daughter, Kristina Brewer of Pekin two step-daughters, Stacey (Don) Barden and Holly (Tim) Steider, both of Washington; one daughter-in-law, Karen Vaughn of Creve Coeur; 12 grandchildren, Amber, Kyle and Kody Vaughn, Kathryn Rohrer and Kimberly Sherlok, Shayla and Shelby Vaughn, Taylor Ocker, Abigail and Nicholas Steider, and Morgan and Alex Barden; six great-grandchildren, Emmeline, Lydia, Alice, Kenny, Dean and Steven; two sisters, Deloris (Bert) Cole and Iva (Bob) Clairday, both of Arkansas, and one sister-in-law, Othella Vaughn of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karla Anderson; one son, Kevin Vaughn; one grandson, Alan Vaughn, two infant sisters, Loyce and Joyce; and four brothers, Cloyce Vaughn, William Vaughn, Carl Vaughn and Ernie Vaughn.

Kennith was employed in engine sales at Caterpillar Inc. for 42 years, retiring in 1996 as a Program Manager.

He was a Sergeant with the United States Army, serving for 16 months in Korea. He then served for four years in the United States Army Reserve.

An extensive traveler, Kennith visited 49 of the 50 states with the exception of North Dakota and also visited eight different countries of the world. He enjoyed visiting home with family in Jonesboro, Arkansas and spending time with family and grandchildren in Illinois.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
