Born October 12, 1937 in Peoria to Kenneth R., Sr. and Sue (Cannon) Schorr, he married Judith Ann Gilliatt on March 7, 1964 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Michael (Sherri) Schorr of Chillicothe, Ralph (Jeanette) Schorr of Monroe, Louisiana, Chuck Schorr of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Don (Gina) Schorr of Pekin; one daughter, Cyndy (Todd) Thousand of Pekin; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gloria Price of Pekin and Vicki (Terry) Wilson of Creve Coeur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; and one sister, Rosemary Walters.
Ken worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 26 years, retiring in 1996 as a security guard. He later owned and operated a truck escort service. He had served in the United States Navy reserve.
He was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church and Kennel Lake Sportsmen’s Club in rural Morton. He formerly served on the Creve Coeur Village Board.
Ken enjoyed fishing. He was always helping and doing things for others.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Creve Coeur Christian Church. The Rev. John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
