Born January 6, 1942 in Beardstown to Harlan R. and Vivian G. (Ballard) Fox, she married Galen Perry on October 3, 1960 in Salem, Arkansas. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lori Jan (Randy) Williams and Gail Ann (Ron) Morris, both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Chad (Nicole) Williams and Ryan Morris, both of Pekin, Kyleigh (Brandon) Miles of Acworth, Georgia and Jared Morris of West Columbia, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Harlow Morris, Italyah and Keegan Miles and Cohen and Leighton Williams; two sisters, Mary (Fred Mayes) Kessler of Peoria and Sue (Roger) Green of Pekin and two brothers, James Fox of Beardstown and Larry (Marilyn) Fox of Medina, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin Gene Perry on March 9, 1961 and two brothers, Harold and Robert Fox.
Kay had spent many years working at the American Distillery, Pekin Hospital in the kitchen and last working as a supervisor at Tone Master in Peoria.
She was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #1869 in Pekin.
Affectionately known as “Nana Kay” to the great grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends, while making them laugh. She was always the life of the party.
Kay loved to travel. She traveled across the country with her husband on their Honda Gold Wing and were snowbirds for many winters in Gulf Shores. She was also a member of several bowling leagues at Sunset Lanes, including the Donut Dunkers.
She also loved baking and cooking. Her chicken and noodles were always a holiday request. She thoroughly enjoyed reading hundreds of romance novels, gardening and playing Bunco with the same group of women for many years.
A gathering celebrating Kay’s life will be Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 274 Derby Street in Pekin from 2 to 6 p.m.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
