I am truly saden to hear about Carla's passing.
Our families hung out together with the Eggana's and all us kids would play in the snow for hours. It seemed like we were always together. I remeber Carla as fun and outgoing and always bothering her brothers. When my Dad (Glen Merritt)passed four years ago I felt like it was the end of the world but God helped me through it and I pray he will help all of you through it as well. Karla & I were neighbors in Pekin when my son, Jesse, was just 1-yr old until he was 3.  She and my son were very "tight"...they played together often with her dog, Dozer, both loved holidays, going to the park, dancing in my living room, and laughing together.  As neighbors, we became friends with many fun memories and I would love to share them with Noah someday if he would like.  I will always remember her smile and know that she is at peace as an Angel.

I HAVE NEVER FORGOTTEN THE MORNING THAT MY CAR SLID ON THE ICE AND WENT INTO THE DITCH IN FRONT OF THE WAGGENBACH'S ON RT 9.  YOU WERE BEHIND ME AND SAW THE WHOLE THING.  YOU STOPPED, MORE LIKE SLID INTO THE DITCH TOO, TO MAKE SURE SHELIE AND I WERE OK.  LUCKILY, YOUR DAD WAS BEHIND YOU AND PULLED US ALL OUT OF THE DITCH SO WE COULD GET TO SCHOOL.

I got to know Karla through my sister and friends. She was a very good friend, I'm sorry we lost touch with eachother over the years. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

Karla was a great friend to me during school and after we graduated.  she helped me through my moms death and I then moved away from the area and we lost touch.  I am deeply saddened to hear of her death and wish to give condolences to her entire family.  I will never forget karla!!!

We got to know Karla when she visted her grandmother who was a neighbor.  During her grandmothers illness we became great friends with her father Ken and Gini.  Karla was a fun person to be around. Our prayers go out to her friends and family.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Karla's passing.  I recently saw her at Wal-Mart and had a nice visit with her.  We had fun talking about our years in school together.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this extremely difficult time.

I lived next door to Karla's Dad, Ken in Pekin for a few years and then had the pleasure of working with her at Hardee's. She had a terrific smile that would make me smile, even if I was having a bad day. She was that type of person and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this sorrowful time. God bless all of you.

My daughter, Kara Marshall, and Karla were classmates at Tremont High.  Kara just saw Karla at Wallmart about a month ago and had a nice visit.  No words are adequate to take away the pain, but just wanted you to know my prayers and thoughts are with your entire family during this difficult time.  Her smile and friendliness will always be remembered.
