Born August 8, 1929 in Peoria to Bert Orman and Olive Mae (Kuykendall) Brassfield, she married Charles Ristich on July 30, 1951 in Peoria. He died January 16, 1992 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are three children, Greg ( Barb) Ristich and Toni (Denny) Talbott, both of Pekin and Dean Ristich of Pinetops, North Carolina; three granddaughters, Shalene (Dennis) Ward of Peoria, Danna (Bradley) Davis and Dynae (Gary) Schmitt, both of East Peoria; one step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Shaun) Edwards of Washington; seven great-grandchildren, Rhiannon, Lachlan, Natalie, Whitney, Wendy, Cayden and Hailey and four step-great-grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, Evan and Taylor.
She was a member of American Red Cross, Delta Zeta Sorority and the Pekin Country Club.
Joyce had worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Pekin Hospital starting 1966. She became assistant director of the lab in 1979, followed by becoming director until her retirement in 1994. She then continued P.R.N. until 2010.
She loved working crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, socializing and going out to eat with friends. Joyce also enjoyed playing golf and bridge.
Her private graveside will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
